Another autumn favourite, Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving Monday
Unlike our American neighbours who celebrate the last Thursday in November, Canada celebrates Thanksgiving this coming Monday.
Being Thankful
Work, school, and deadlines can make our day sometimes be outright exhausting.
Taking a few minutes to reflect on the positive moments of our day is an excellent way to become more conscious of the good that exists around us.
This weekend is a perfect opportunity to reflect, give thanks, and enjoy a nice meal with family and friends.
3 Simple Ways to Show Gratitude
Most skills require practice before reaching perfection. Research has shown that those who practice showing gratitude feel the psychological benefit of feeling extra thankful even weeks after performing a task. Here are three gratitude exercises you can try throughout the year:
- Write a thank-you note/card. Everyone likes to feel appreciated, but nothing compares to receiving a hand-written note. It’s the most personal way to show someone you are thankful.
- Volunteer. Giving back is a great way to show thanks within your community.
- Be Present. Show gratitude to someone you care about by being there and paying attention. No distractions, no cell phones.

“We must begin with thanksgiving for everything. The beginning of joy is to be content with your situation.” – St. Ambrose of Optina
