Happy Thursday

Summer is right around the corner. Warmer weather means more outdoor activities, BBQs, and drinks on the patio!
Destination Greece
The pandemic has put many of our travels on hold this past year. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Greece Welcomes First Flight from the US on Saturday, May 29th. While things have been going a little slow in Canada, it looks like the US is slowly opening up.
Words from Saint Paisios
Saint Paisios, a modern Saint of the Greek Orthodox Church, was loved and visited by many in mount Athos while alive. He was canonized on January 13th, 2015, by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. Below we added a counsel written by Saint Paisios.
“If one studies a great deal to acquire knowledge and to teach others, without living the things he teaches, he does no more than fill his head with hot air. At most, he will manage to ascend to the moon using machines. The goal of the Christian is to rise to God without machines.” Saint Paisios
Metamorphosis Church
Metamorphosis Greek Orthodox church in Toronto has been getting some much-needed renovations. The parish priest Fr. Fanourios has done great work since his arrival this past October. There is still a need for financial support to continue the improvements of the church interior.
To donate, follow the details on their website.
Double wash – Saturday, June 5th
We mentioned it last week…one more time can’t hurt. Besides, it’s for a good cause.
The Greek Community of Toronto will be holding a car wash fundraiser on Saturday, June 5th, from: 8 am-6 pm, at The Big Wax Car Wash (located at 271 Front Street East). All revenues from the event will directly support the Greek Community of Toronto’s current fundraising campaign.
